Baby Shower Games For Couples
Baby Shower Games for Couples
Baby showers were once like Tupperware parties, the sole domain of females. However, more men are now
taking a more active role in parenting, and they want to be a part of the preparation and excitement too. Many
parents are choosing to have co-ed baby showers instead of more traditional girls-only parties. This creates a
different environment, so baby shower games played at the party should be friendly to both genders.
The “Make a Baby” Game
Play-Doh, the favorite childhood art supply, can also be used for fun baby shower games for couples. In
the “Make a Baby” game, each person receives two different colored pieces of Play-Doh and they use it to
create their own “baby.” Once everyone is done, the “babies” are placed on a tray and the expectant parents
can pick their favorite creation. The finished projects can be very funny. Another variation on this game
is to have guests shape various baby objects and then have other participants determine what those objects are.
The “Diaper Olympics” Relay Race
A “Diaper Olympics” relay race can also be a fun choice for baby shower games for couples. All that is
needed for this game is a couple of baby dolls, a stack of diapers, some wipes, and talcum powder. Then,
divide the group in half and pretend to do diaper changes on the baby, one at a time, relay-race style. Each
individual in the group must run to the doll, pull of the diaper, use a wipe, powder the doll and reapply a
diaper. They must then run back to the line and tag the next person in line to take a turn. Whichever team
finishes first, wins.
Baby Outburst
Another of the many popular baby shower games for couples is Baby Outburst. This game works the same way as
the adult game of Outburst, only it only uses key topics that focus on babies, moms, dads and pregnancies. The
game coordinator should pick ten things that relate to each category and write them down. Then the guests
should be separated into teams. Each team has up to a minute to list as many things as they can think of in
each category. When they are done they can review the master list to determine how many points they will
receive.
What’s in the Dirty Diaper?
Baby shower games for couples also include “What’s in the Dirty Diaper.” While this game sounds gross, it
is all in good fun, and the expectant parents will at least get some hilarious photos of their friends sniffing
diapers. All that is needed to play this game is a selection of candy, a few diapers, paper and pens. Before the
party, the game coordinator should smash or melt several types of candy into a diaper. One hint: chocolate candy
bars are best, for obvious reasons. Then pass each diaper around and sniff the contents to guess what type of candy
it is.
Hosting a couple’s baby shower can be a great way to let the proud parents bask in their friends
well-wishes. Also this type of party does not exclude any of the mother-to-be’s male friends. Fun games
can still be played, just be sure to keep the audience in mind when planning and preparing the party.
