Baby ShowerBaby Shower Games For Girls

Easy Baby Shower Games for Girls and Boys

Even though baby showers are held to celebrate a new child, they are predominantly adult affairs. However, many people are now hosting family baby showers, where even husbands and children are welcome to join in the fun. At a family baby shower, it is important to keep all of the guests comfortable and entertained – including young children. There are several fun and easy baby shower games for girls and boys of all ages that will ensure a successful event and keep things running smoothly.

Baby Food Taste Test

Some traditional baby shower games for girls and  boys seem to be made with children in mind rather than adults, such as the baby food taste test game. In this game, the children are seated at a table and blindfolded.

With several different flavors of baby food at the ready, have each child taste one flavor at a time, asking them to guess which they think it is. Repeat with other flavors as desired, and the child with the highest number of correct guesses at the end of the game wins a prize. For extra fun and challenge, play with parent and child teams or parents against the children.

Baby Photo Game

Another traditional game that can easily be adapted for children is a baby photo guessing game. Each child should be asked to bring one of their baby photos to the shower. Arrange the photos on a bulletin board, assigning each one a number. Next, place each child's name with a letter on another board. Have the children take turns trying to match the names with the photos. Small prizes can be awarded for correct guesses as desired. Tip: make sure to instruct the children not to give away their secret!

Baby Animal Trivia Game

Most children – and parents, as well, may not know the terminology for some types of baby animals. Everyone knows that a baby dog is called a puppy, or that a baby deer is called a fawn, but how many will know that a baby shark is called a pup? Prepare flash cards ahead of time with these fun trivia facts and quiz the children in rounds. Award small prizes as desired for the highest number of correct answers – perhaps a stuffed baby animal or similar small gift related to the game. Allow the parents to join in on the fun too, if they choose.

Toys and Crafts

Sometimes children who are very young or have short attention spans just do not take much interest in structured, competitive baby shower games. Fun and interactive baby shower games for girls and boys who are very young can come in the form of a simple area set aside for them to play “parents” with baby dolls and a toy crib, or draw to their hearts' content in a baby coloring book. The children will be kept entertained and occupied while the rest of the guests are involved in games, and their parents will certainly be grateful.

Baby shower games for girls and boys do not have to be costly, either. Most games and activities can be printed out at home, or created with a few simple craft supplies you may already have in your home. Ensure the success of the party with a few fun and easy baby shower games for girls and boys of all ages.
