Baby Shower Games For Kids
Baby Shower Games for Kids
Kids are being included in baby showers more and more often. While it is fun and convenient for shower guests to
bring their kids to a baby shower, it is important that they have diversions to occupy them. There are lots of
super baby shower games for kids that will keep them from becoming the entire focus of your party.
Baby Shower Games for the Adults
If older children are attending your baby shower, they can participate in the games you have on tap for the
adults. Most baby shower games are a little bit silly and are not difficult to play at any age. Guessing
games, like how many jellybeans are in a bottle and baby bingo games work well for older kids. Door prize games
based on drawings and memory games requiring players to remember items they have seen are well within the grasp of
older children. Further, it makes the older children feel like important guests when included in the adults’
games.
Name that Food
Buy a number of jars of pureed baby foods so that you have a number of sets that are close to the same color.
For example, you might buy a jar of peas and a jar of spinach and a jar of squash and a jar of pears. Cover the
labels on the jars and number them. Have each child guess what the food is in each jar. Write down their
guesses. If children are having difficulty, allow each of them to taste each food. Be sure to have plenty of
spoons on hand so that each child has his own.
Baby Bottle Bowling
Baby bottle bowling is a baby shower game for kids that your adult guests may insist on playing too. Set aside
an area that will accommodate rolling a ball for about 10 feet. Arrange plastic baby bottles like a set of bowling
pins. Let each child roll the ball to knock down the pins. The child who knocks the most bottles down wins. Be
sure to keep written score to avoid arguments, particularly if your adult guests are playing.
Name the Baby
Some time prior to the shower date, ask each mother who is bringing children to the baby shower to give you a
picture of each of her children when babies. Lightly write a number in pencil on the back of each picture. Create a
list of the numbers and corresponding name of the child in the photo. Pass the pictures around to each child and
have him guess which baby picture matches which child at the party. Keep a record of the each child’s
guess. The child who gets the most correct matches wins.
Play Areas
Kids attending baby showers will have plenty of free time when they are not playing organized games, like during
present unwrapping. To keep them happy and busy, set aside a play area with toys, coloring books and plenty of
crayons. Provide colored construction paper and blunt scissors for creative play. Since it is a baby shower after
all, having a toy crib, a toy baby stroller, several baby dolls and changes of clothes, including diapers, would be
a nice touch. Make sure you have toys that both boys and girls can enjoy.
