Baby Shower Games In Spanish
Baby Shower Games in Spanish
Traditionally, baby showers are not celebrated in Latin cultures. However, with many high profile Hispanic
celebrities like Jennifer Lopez having baby showers, these families are starting to embrace the idea. These
baby showers offer delicious food, fun, baby gifts and lots of baby talk—in Spanish. Baby shower games in
Spanish homes are often played a little differently, though, and while some traditional games may work well, others
may need to be modified slightly.
Games that Translate Well
There are also several baby shower games in Spanish that work well in any culture. One of the most
popular games is to guess the circumference of the mother’s belly. After all the guesses are made, a
measuring tape can provide the exact measurements and the one who has the closest guess wins a prize. Another
game is a version of “Pin the Tail on the Donkey.” In this game participants must “Pin the Pacifier on the
Baby.”
Spanish Baby Bingo: Bingo del Bebe
Baby shower games in Spanish also include Bingo Del Bebe. This game is played much the same as regular
bingo, with the main difference in that it uses cards with pictures of various baby items. The pictures are
then scrambled on the playing card and the game coordinator calls out the various items until someone gets a
bingo. There are several sources online where a Spanish version of the game can be printed out or many party
supply stores offer a version as well.
A Spanish Word Scramble
A Spanish word scramble is another idea for great baby shower games in Spanish. The game coordinator should
come up with several baby themed words in Spanish like baby bottle, diaper, nursery, rattle, stroller and newborn
and scramble the words. Give a copy to each guest and have them decipher the words. The person who
deciphers the most words the quickest should win a small prize.
Pick the Baby Animal
Another one of the popular baby shower games in Spanish is the game of picking the baby animal. Some
animals have unusual baby names. For example, in English a baby swan is known as a cygnet and a baby goat is known
as a kid, and the same principle applies in Spanish. Pick several animals that have babies with unusual names and
list them on a piece of paper. Give each guest a copy of the animals and let them try to figure out what the name
of each animal’s baby is.
Today, many people of Latin descent host baby showers for their friends and family members. Finding the
right Spanish games or modifying some traditional games to use for a Spanish baby shower is easy. Try some of
the games above or find others online. Many of the games online have downloadable versions that only need to
be printed out and played.
