Coed Baby Shower Games
Coed Baby Shower Games
Traditionally, baby showers have always been exclusive to women – planned, hosted and attended by women to honor
and bring gifts for a new mother. Most men shy away from the scene of diapers and childbirth stories. However, in
recent years the trend of coed baby showers has been on the rise, doubling the fun as both men and women gather to
enjoy the event. Luckily for the hosts, there are a variety of fun and interactive coed baby shower games and
activities to keep everyone entertained.
Musical Bottles
A rousing game of musical bottles, played similarly to musical chairs or “hot potato”, is a great coed
baby shower ice breaker game that everyone can enjoy. To start, bring out three baby bottles full of milk or juice
and hand them to some of the guests. Have a fun song ready to play, and start the music. The guests must pass the
baby bottles back and forth quickly, for when the music is stopped at random, any guest who is left holding a
bottle must drink its contents. The winner is determined by being the fastest one to empty the baby bottle.
Stroller Obstacle Course Game
A stroller obstacle course is a great game for an outdoor baby shower, and requires good sports all around. Set
up some silly obstacles in the paths of the “course”, and test the father-to-be on his ability to safely maneuver a
stroller. Secure a baby doll in the stroller, and encourage the new dad to beat the clock. Points can be taken away
for knocking over any of the obstacles. For an extra fun touch, blow a whistle when the time starts and stops, and
keep score on a chalkboard. Then, allow the rest of the guests to participate and compare scores.
Baby Bingo
Bingo is practically a staple at many types of parties, including baby showers. It can be plenty of fun for both
men and women, making it one of the most popular coed baby shower games. Put a baby shower spin on the game by
making a list of baby-related bingo words instead of number. Call out words like diaper, bottle, stroller, pacifier
and onesie, and let the guests mark their bingo sheets with baby-related cutout shapes or candies. Offer a package
of candy or a similar gift as the prize for the winner, and everyone will want to be involved.
Girth Guessing
Another traditional game at women's baby showers has the guests using string, tape, or toilet paper to guess the
size of the pregnant woman's belly. The guests cut or tear a length of the chosen material that they think best
represents the woman's size, and the mother-to-be announces the closest match as the winner. One way to put a new
spin on this activity for coed baby shower games is to have the expecting parents hug each other, while the guests
try to guess the size of their combined girths instead of just the pregnant woman's.
Coed baby shower games are a great way to keep both the men and women entertained and comfortable at a baby
shower. These coed baby shower games can easily be adjusted according to the mood and the number of participants.
Since baby showers are typically a ladies-only event, they may require a little extra something to include the men
in on the fun.
