Best Baby Shower Games
Great Baby Shower Games
Great baby shower games will create a lighthearted, easy-going atmosphere for guests and the mom to be. Some are
silly, others more than a little adult in nature, but all baby shower games should be easy to play, satisfying to
win, and simply a fun way to spend time with good friends.
Classic Baby Games
There are many baby shower games that, while perhaps a bit silly and old-fashioned, have been popular for
generations. Guests can “Guess Mom’s Belly Size” by cutting string to the size they think the pregnant mommy’s
belly is, and then measuring to see whose guess is the closest. “Guess the Baby Picture” is also fun; have
each guest bring a baby photo, and then arrange them together on a board and try to guess who’s who. “Pin the
Pacifier on the Baby” is an easy twist on an old favorite, for those who want to get off the couch and really play
a game.
Baby Trivia
If your party has a more intellectual crowd, traditional baby shower games may seem a bit dull. In this case,
try teasing their brains with trivia and tricks! Draw up some questions for a game of “Baby Jeopardy,” or scramble
common baby words like “pacifier” and “onesie,” giving a prize to the person who solves the problems fastest. A
scavenger hunt can get bored guests up and out of their chairs; try hiding baby items around the yard or inside the
house, but make sure that all the found items go to mom and her new bundle of joy! A separate prize can be saved
for the winner.
A Sexy Twist
Most baby shower games tend to be sweet and innocent, but let’s face it – this is mom’s last chance to be
naughty before the baby comes! If your mama-to-be wants something a bit more racy, try games like “Pin the Sperm on
the Egg,” or put together “Baby-Making Kits” at a girls-only party with candles, bubble bath, and a silky camisole
or nightgown. Alternatively, arrange a “Night Out at Home,” complete with dancing, music, great food, and sparkling
seltzer for mom, so she can feel like she’s still part of the gang even when she’s too tired to leave the
house.
Relaxing Alternatives
If your guests are simply not the game-playing type, plan a party that doesn’t center on baby shower games.
Treat them to a day at the spa instead, where mom and her friends can get manicured, pedicured, and massaged to
their hearts’ content. Then end the day with decadent desserts and fond farewells; perhaps order a cake in the
shape of a stork, or tiers of cupcakes with sweet baby-frosted designs. Mom may not get to look at the drinks menu
anymore, but there’s no reason for her not to indulge in chocolate and cream!
Baby shower games are a way to help guests loosen up, get to know each other, and have a great time. With a
little planning and preparation, your shower shouldn’t be anything less than a blast!
